The Art of Cheat and Anti-Cheat
There is an event for anyone who interested for game industry in Yogyakarta. This event is called “Bengkel Gamelan”. Bengkel Gamelan created by “Yogyakarta Game Dev Community” and held every Thursday at 19.00-22.00 in Jogja Digital Valley (JDV).
Bengkel Gamelan is an event for sharing anything about game industry. You can get a lot of information about game industry such as technical knowledge, business process, and you can get information about newly released games.
Qajoo also had a privilege to become Bengkel Gamelan speaker. It was on April 10th 2014, we shared about “Art of Cheat and Anti Cheat”. We shared about cheat history, cheat tools, how to cheat, and how to protect our game from cheater. Everyone interested on this topic, especially when we talked about how to protect our game from cheater.
Below are summary point about how to protect your game from cheater:
- Be a cheater
If You want to protect your game from cheater, you need to become a cheater. Because you will know how cheater work when you become a cheater. There are many tutorials on the internet on how to cheat in a game, just search it (be careful, sometimes there are viruses that use cheat as a bait).
- Learn every step you did when cheating
Don’t forget that you cheat because you want to know how they work. You must learn the details on every step you did when cheating. You have to know why you use a cheating tool, how the tool works, and how the logic works. Because when you understand the basic of cheating, you can create your own cheating methods.
- Be creative
Creativity is not only a major thing in art, but also in programming/code. When you apply your creativity to your code, your game will be harder to be cheated. For example, you can divide the score value by 2 and then put them into 2 different variables. Cheater will be confused when they try to track score value because “what they see is not what they get”. 😀
